Michael Semple is an expert on the Taliban, the Pashtun tribes and Afghan politics. He has worked in Afghanistan since 1989, most recently as Deputy to the EU Special Representative for Afghanistan. He was a Fellow at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School from 2009-2011. He has written for various newspapers and magazines.
