Siddhartha Deb is an Indian journalist and writer. He is the author of two novels: The Point of return, which was a 2003 New York Times notable book of the year, and An Outline of the Republic. His new non-fiction book, The Beautiful and the damned: life in the New India, has just been longlisted for the Orwell prize in the UK.
